The lamp is available in a housing that has the smallest size among lamps of comparable wattage and can operate on a 5 V battery to allow assembly into portable analytical instruments.

Two models are available: one is an easy-to-handle packaged model with low electromagnetic noise, and the other is a cylindrical circuit board model offering a high degree of design freedom.
